Who is EJK?
Meet 18 year old Elizabeth Jane Kratochvil (EJK). Elizabeth is the owner of EJK's Custom Creations, her very own leather goods business. Elizabeth started working with leather about three years ago, and quickly developed a love of designing and creating beautiful, high-quality leather goods.
Elizabeth truly believes in her business motto, "Quality is handmade", and each piece that she creates is thoughtfully hand-crafted. From the hand-riveted purse straps on her signature Deluxe Opal Totes, to the delicate hand-painted leather earrings, each product is truly a work of art.
Designing Leather Goods: A Photo Journey
The design process begins with selecting just the right piece of leather for each project. Elizabeth sources unique leathers to add to her collection, and often her products are one off pieces.
The next step in the design process is cutting the leather to fit the pattern. Elizabeth designs many of her own patterns.
Next, the leather is taken to the assembly table where the leather can be further cut, rivets can be applied, and the leather will be prepared for sewing.
The final step in the design process is sewing up the finished product on Elizabeth's industrial leather sewing machine.
